Symmetrical Dragon Heads
Students learned about the celebrations of the Chinese New Year, and discussed symmetry. With inspiration gleaned from looking at various images of Chinese New Year parades, students created stunning symmetrical dragon heads. They were encouraged to use their imagination - anything was okay, as long as it was symmetrical!
WOW!
Oil Pastel Owls
Third grade students are brainstorming, sketching, and experimenting with oil pastels in their sketchbooks before beginning their oil pastel owl project. Last week, students learned about artist Ricardo Penalver and discovered how creating art can help make the world a better place.
Once all the brainstorming was done, students used their chosen limited palette of colors to draw these beautiful owls. Nice work!
